No Straight Lines: Remarkable Journeys from Series 1
When I launched No Straight Lines this summer, I wanted to create a platform that explored the real stories behind success — the journeys that are inspiring, raw, and often far from linear.
A few months on, I’ve been truly blown away by the conversations we’ve had and the honesty of our guests. From entrepreneurs and business leaders to TV broadcasters and international sports stars turned entrepreneurs, each story has offered something powerful and unique.
Stories That Inspire — and Challenge
Over the course of Series 1, we’ve spoken to individuals who have walked very different paths — but who share a common thread: resilience.
We’ve heard from:
- A project manager who led major builds from start to completion in record time.
- A school teacher who took a leap into the world of sports broadcasting, eventually becoming a Pitchside reporter for Scrum V.
- An iconic former rugby international who started a cleaning business off the back of an unexpected opportunity.
- A police officer turned leading entrepreneur, now running a multi-million-pound McDonald’s franchise.
- A consultant psychiatrist who built a unique circular economy business by recycling coffee grounds.
The range of stories has been extraordinary. Some are uplifting and energising; others are marked by moments of personal loss, unexpected setbacks, and the emotional resilience required to keep going when everything seems to be falling apart.
This honesty is what makes No Straight Lines different. Success is rarely neat. It’s often shaped by detours, setbacks, and moments of truth that ultimately define the person behind the story.
Looking Ahead
We still have three more episodes to come in Series 1, featuring voices from the worlds of business, sport, and community leadership — and I can’t wait to share them with you.
Meanwhile, Series 2 is already in the planning stages, and I can promise that the conversations ahead will continue to inspire, challenge, and motivate in equal measure.
